As Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Frank LaPorta, is responsible for Urban Health Plan’s financial management strategy, its continued financial viability, and the management of all vital business aspects of the organization. This includes Cash Management, budgeting, Financial Statement preparation, vendor relations, Board presentations, management of accounts receivables and payables, and the administration of the organizations policies on finance, purchasing, accounting, internal controls and auditing.
Mr. LaPorta has over 40 years experience in Public Accounting and Health Care Finance. Prior to joining Urban Health Plan in July 2015, for over 11 years Mr. LaPorta was the Sr. VP for Finance / CFO at the Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley in Tarrytown, New York. Prior to this he was the Associate Executive Director / CFO for NYC Health & Hospitals Corporation – Health & Home Care Division, was VP for Finance / CFO at Westchester Square Medical Center, and held various management level positions at several NY medical facilities including Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York Hospital Cornell, and St. Lukes’-Roosevelt Hospital Center.
Born and raised in the Bronx, Mr. LaPorta is a graduate of Iona College where he received a BBA in Accounting and a Master of Science in Health Care Systems Management. Mr. LaPorta is an advanced member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and a winner of the HFMA Follmer Bronze Merit Award. He is also an adjunct Professor at Mercy College where he teaches Health Care Finance in the Graduate School for Nursing.
