Becoming a new mom (or dad) is an exciting, sometimes anxious experience for first time parents. To ease that anxiety and prepare for life before and after the baby arrives, UHP offers the M.A.M.A program, a weekly class which meets for four weeks that teaches expectant mothers about having a healthy pregnancy and preparing for childbirth and delivery.
The class includes nutritional advice and exercise, fetal development, signs of labor, newborn care, how to choose a pediatrician and what to expect from postpartum visits. Classes are free and open to patients and community residents.
