Chicago, IL – Urban Health Plan is proud to announce that chief executive officer Paloma Izquierdo-Hernandez was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of 2018’s Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare. The profiles of all the winners are featured in the February 26, 2018 print issue of Modern Healthcare and at ModernHealthcare.com/Top25Minorities. The award was presented to her at a ceremony in Chicago on July 18, 2018.
In its seventh year, the biennial recognition program honors the top minority healthcare executives who are influencing the policy and care delivery models across the country. In doing so, they are also highlighting the continued need to nurture diversity in our organizations.
“From leaders of health systems who are actively working to make sure that communities of color have access to affordable and high-quality healthcare to heroes who protected victims of natural disasters and violent protests, this year’s Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare exemplify resilience and tenacity,” said Modern Healthcare Editor Aurora Aguilar. “These leaders have produced incredible results by elevating the quality of patient care at their organizations while supporting and advancing their peers to boost diversity in the C-suite. As Modern Healthcare’s first Latina editor, I take special pride in this program and look forward to seeing the Top 25 and the 10 to Watch honorees grow in their roles and their influence.”
“It is an honor to be recognized with this award and included in such distinguished company,” says Izquierdo-Hernandez. “The importance of diversity in healthcare cannot be underestimated, from addressing health care disparities, to increasing patient access, and promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce.”
