Urban Health Plan has created a new online resource to help patients and community members stay informed about recent federal changes affecting food assistance programs.
Federal Shutdown SNAP & Food Assistance Updates Page
Due to a federal funding delay, November SNAP (food stamp) benefits are temporarily postponed or, in some cases, delayed. To make sure our patients have the most up-to-date information, we launched a dedicated webpage that provides the latest updates on:
- SNAP Benefits: What’s happening with November payments
- New Federal Work Rules (ABAWD): Who is affected and what’s required
- Food Resources: Where to find local pantries and nutrition support
- WIC Benefits: Information for families currently receiving or applying for WIC
This page is designed to help you understand these updates in simple, easy-to-read language and includes links to community food programs and the NYC Food Pantry List for immediate assistance.
If you or someone you know needs food today, please call 311 or visit CityHarvest.org or FindHelp.org.
For families participating in the WIC Program, services remain unchanged. You can apply by phone or in person and continue to receive benefits as usual.
