Congratulations to Rafael Salamanca, Jr. on receiving the Bronx Horizon Award from the Greater Hunts Point Economic Development Corporation at their annual Spring Mingle business networking reception. A well-deserved honor for a leader whose commitment to the Bronx has been nothing short of extraordinary.

As our President and CEO, Paloma Hernandez, noted, during his 10-year tenure on the New York City Council, Salamanca secured more than $500 million in funding for his district. GHPEDC Executive Director Donald Eversley recognized Salamanca for his “deep dedication to the community,” from his leadership of the 41st Precinct Community Council to his role as District Manager for Bronx Community Board 2.

The perfect afternoon was topped off by a wonderful performance by the legendary Latin jazz musician Bobby Sanabria.

We applaud the GHPEDC for bringing the Bronx together in such a meaningful way!
